PVC Pressure Fittings & Pipe
PVC pressure pipes are manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride polymer(a thermoplastic material) using the extrusion process. PVC (also known as uPVC and PVC-U) pipes were introduced into Australia in the early 1960's and are now widely accepted for use in water supply, irrigation and sewerage rising mains. Australian Standards for PVC pipes cover composition, dimensions, performance and marking requirements for pipes, fittings and joints. Pipes are designated by their nominal size (DN) and their nominal pressure rating or class at 20°C (PN). The standard effective length of PVC pipe is 6m.
